tach and spark plug gap/1973/450sl

I gapped my plugs at 0.6mm and now the tach needle jumps around at idle. Should I regap at 0.8mm or 1.00mm and will this solve the tach problem. thanks

6mm is about .023" I am suprised if it is not running badly. 8mm sounds beter thats .032. Use copper plugs only no platinum.
