I have a 190E 2.6 and the engine temperature gauge reads at the top or the 80C. Is this ok and does this convert to about 180 degree F?

Ken,
You say it reads "at the top or the 80c". Did you mean "at the top OF the 80c mark?" If so, yes, most MBs run AT LEAST 80 C, and often hotter depending on ambient temp, type of driving, AC use, etc. If you meant "at the top of the gauge..." then no, that's too hot.
