I own a 1986 420 SEL. I need to know the gap setting for the
spark plugs.

I'm pretty sure it's .032. Check your owner's manual.

I believe you should be using Bosch copper plugs and if you get them from a dealer, they are usually pre-gapped. I've never had to gap a Bosch plug.
