I just received the letter from MBUSA about the class action on the use of conventional oil vs syntheitc oil. MBUSA will provide 10 years/150000 miles warranty of any oil sludging or related engine damage in the car. The model year 1998 - 2001 are included in this settlement. Also 1998 and 1999 owners will receive a $35 dollars coupon for FSS A or B service.

I guess my engine is in good shape because I switched to Mobil 1 after the first 5000 miles. According to the terms of the warranty, I probably will never have a chance to claim it.
