I am just trying to get it right...That is a euphemism for I can't keep my hands off of it.

The '85 500SEL, I am investigating a rough and rich idle when cold. I disconnected the vacuum control valve (the thing that "buzzes") and the damned thing trimmed out. I had it off for about 15 seconds and plugged it back in and now it seems to run a little better.

The question is then, what did I do and is that the path to telling what is wrong?
