300ce (full throttle) shifts into 2nd at 3500rpm?

Hello, I have a 1992 300ce with 130k miles. It is a stock m104 engine and when I take off of a dead stop (engaging the kick down) the car shifts into 2nd at 7000rpm then when it shifts into 3rd it only goes up to 3500rpm. The throttle cable has been toyed with by the way by my mechanic and no matter where he or I set it to this still happens.

Any ideas???????????????????

Thank You in advance for any info!

You maybe having trouble with your torque converter. Since your car isnt electronic shift then most likely its your torque converter.

The torque convertor has nothing to do with shift points.

You probably have a valve body issue.

Yeah that slipped my mind at the time but a stuck valve in the valve body would cause this problem. trannys arent my strong point. Need to work on more mercedes automatic transmissions

Thanks a lot, it makes sense too. I did change my transimission and put another used one in it because a rebuild was out of my price range. So now I see what I must do.

Many thanks again.
