OK... I have a Euro M103 engine with KIS (I think) I have the 8 pin diagnostic socket, but no LED or button that some people have mentioned... is there any way I can check the codes... I presume I just need to put a 12v lamp between 2 points, and connect another 2 points to display the codes

Actually if you use a LED it will work. Just connect the positive side to the pin to be tested and the negative to the ground. Now just jump a wire from the pin to be tested to ground for 3 seconds and the LED will flash the code.

Which is the most common pin to use?
I have a list of codes... I assume its Pin #3 for the sensor fault codes... also, what voltage of Led? 2ishV? or 12V? Thanks.... ------------------ Brian Drought 1991 300CE http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~drought/ ICQ: 2180069 |

Thats a good question. I guess a 12v. I used the Led out of an old window switch for the 3ooE and it worked fine.
You need to get a book that tells you which pins to use and what the codes mean. ------------------ Benzmac: ASE CERTIFIED MASTER AUTO TECHNICIAN SERVICE MANAGER FOR 14 BAY FACILITY MERCEDES SPECIALIST 8 YRS PARTNER IN MERCEDESSHOP.COM |
