Can the small hose between the front of the head and waterpump be replaced without removing the water pump? Mine is showing signs of slow leak in the reinforcement threads between teh inner and outer layers of rubber. Thanks

Not sure of the arrangement in a 2.6, but if it is similar to the 2.3, it can be done. On the 2.3 there is about a 3"-4" hose piece between the water pump and the thermostat housing. There is enough flexibility in the new hose to allow it to be slipped in between the two nozzles.

If that hose is blown you do have to do the water pump at the same time. I know we have them both in stock in the partshop. Do them both at the same time! It will save you time and money in the long run!
The cost of the hose is 4.94. I don't know on the pump. ------------------ Benzmac: ASE CERTIFIED MASTER AUTO TECHNICIAN SERVICE MANAGER FOR 14 BAY FACILITY MERCEDES SPECIALIST 8 YRS PARTNER IN MERCEDESSHOP.COM [This message has been edited by Benzmac (edited 08-16-1999).] |
