Hey-hey!!!,
After looking through the manual page by page, I found most of the answer. In 14.8-050/13 to15. the box on side of injection pump is an inductive throttle position sensor. Moving the mixture control varies the inductance and Electronic control unit translates it into position, in addition to temp sensor at first( front )plug in the head, determines wheter or not to open the pressure valve( called 'switchover valve', located on firewall nest to brake booster) and allow full power.
Short answer, I think I need to swap over to the '85 injection pump( D-Oh,stupid pump!!!), and remove the plug in the head and put in the 85's temp sensor.
regards,
Douglas
