I have a 93 300SE as does a friend of mine. I drove his the other day and his door locks automatically lock when in drive, but mine do not. Mine lock with the dash switch only. I didn't see anything in the owner's manual about auto locks and a search of this site didn't produce any hits. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? It's been bugging me.
Thanks, Ed |

Did all W140's have auto locking?
Maybe I should pose this question a different way. Did all W140's have automatic locks or was this an option?
Thanks, Ed |

MB STARS,
Thanks for the response. I just wanted to make sure there was not a fault that I did not address. I'll continue locking the doors with the dash switch. Appreciate it, Ed |

Is there a way tp find out what options or standard options a w140 car would have had?

hello everyone - i don't know if this is helpful or not, but when i had keyless entry added to my remote starter, the locks automatically lock when i start the car, and the automatically unlock when i turn the ignition off. i'm really impartial to that part of it - it's just nice to unlock the doors when you have lots of goodies in your hands!! take care-michael.
