W124 Sunroof makes loud noise
My sunroof slides open and closes fine; open up fine too. It seems to make a loug "bang" noise when closing from the UP position... Please advise???

Sounds like one of your brackets are getting ready to bend or break. My moonroof died on my W124 wagon and it cost $1200 to fix including $350 for the headliner. Have it checked out soon.

replaceable DIY?
Can I perform some type of preventative maintenance on it or replace the part myself? Will it be on the CD?
