What direction my crankshaft turns?

If I am looking at it from the front would it turn clockwise or counterclockwise? it's '95 E420

Looking at it from the front it turns clockwise.

I only know of two auto engines which turned 'backwards'... one was the first Honda imported into the US... the tiny tiny car... and the other was the Corvair.... so dunebuggy owners that wanted to use it to replace the VW engine had to order special cams to turn it the other direction....

If I'm not mistaken, all Honda automotive engines spin "backwards" except the S2000's.

Actually, dune buggy fanatics that used the Corvair powerplant took a simpler approach. They flipped the VW transaxle pinion gear to spin in the opposite direction...
