Please go to www.jersey.net/~rtc/BENZ.html The picture shows my progress in rebuilding the 83 240D Engine. The Crankshaft is at TDC; the head is on. The "unclosed" chain has been threaded through the timing rails, sprockets and timing wheel.
I'll close the Chain after I install the Camshaft at TDC. Then I'll put the Chain Tensioner on. However how do I do this and preserve chain to cam TDC relationship?
Wont there be a "shift" after installing the chain tensioner, throwing everything off?
