Creeking sound from behind front left wheel.

Hi Guys,

I 've been having this strange creaking sound from my MERC E 230's front left wheel. It seems to be coming from behind the wheel and is only present either when the car is at a dead slow speed or stationary with the stearing moving. Tried spraying WD-40 blindly behind the wheel and the creaking sound seems to disapear for sometime before appearing again 100 kms later.

What could be the problem?.
