1990 190E Climate Control Dash lights not working
None of the dash lights work on my climate control system. The tempature wheel, fan control and buttons do not light up. Could it be a fuse for these lights or all the bulbs are burned out. Also my outside tempature indicator does not light up anymore, is there a bulb for that or is it the LED unit.
Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi,
Does the ACC system work even though the lights do not? There are only two bulbs and they usually do not go out at the same time unless there is a big failure -- Aux Water Pump failure for instance. Have you replaced all the fuses? Do so now and you'll save a lot in little problems. Don't just assume they are good. Replace all of them. About $10.00 and cheap at the price. The outside temp sensor may or may not be related to the ACC pushbutton control unit. Does your Aux Water Pump work? (Turn on ignition, press defrost and high heat. Feel the pump. Does it vibrate?) When these pumps go, they have the nasty habit of blowing out the ACC pushbutton unit. Lights did not work. I resoldered mine and it works again. chicago124 |
