'80 450SLC Valvetrain Noise

Guys,

A good friend of mine has an '80 450 SLC with a very slight "tick" in the valve train. Does this engine have mechanical valves, or hydraulic? If it is mechanical I'm thinking it might only be lash.

Any thoughts?

Wow, I'm embarrassed. I told my friend that you guys would answer this question in probably an hour.

I'll settle for just confirming my idea that this engine has mechanical valves.
