Use of Techron

My '89 300TE was running rough at idle, just not the same old smooth self. Having been told by an independent Merc. shop that Techron works on cleaning injectors I though I would try a bottle with 3/4 tank of gas. It made all the difference, the old smooth idle is back and that's all I did. Food for thought.

Techron has always gotten very good reviews on any injector cleaner test I ever read.
I make it a point to add a bottle of injector cleaner at every oilchange.

Bluestripe,

Are your fuel injectors still original or have they been replaced? The reason I asked is because my 300 TE starts rough on cold starts ( 1st start in the morning) for about 1 second, then idles smoothly afterwards. It only happens in cold starts.

My 103 engine sometimes stumbled and stuttered badly on cold start, but I could clear it's throat with a push on the pedal, so I ignored it for awhile. Then the warm idle got just a bit rough.
Techron didn't help, so about 1 easy hour and $120 later I had new injectors, and both problems went away. Great thing about these mechanical injectors; they are relatively cheap and a piece of cake to install on the 103.
