steering wheel/column replacement

I have a 85 380se and the turn signal cancel does not return for the right signal. It's no big deal but eventually I want to fix it. However, I recently bought a 86 420sel for parts and the steering
column has the telescoping feature and an air bag. Will the 86 column fit in the 85?( I will remove the air bag). Should I fix the signal bushing on the 85 and just replace the steering wheel? Or should I just leave it alone? If any solution is possible, I can do it myself with proper guidance from you guys.

Thanks

All you need to do is replace the turn signal switch.
