I just recently purchased a Interstate for my 1998 E300TD. The ome had a drain plug on the end of the battery, with a plastic hose that fed thru a grommet in the floor. The interstate apeares to have a oval shapped drain in the middle of the battery. IF this in fact a drain, what have you fellows been doing with it, if anything?

My brother has a 10 years old Mazda MPV. It has the original Panasonic battery (not maintenance-free). I opened the cell caps (my brother never touched them before) to check for water level and it's still normal! The battery is still going strong. These Japanese batteries really kick ass.
