W124 sudden brake loss

Was pulling into the local target and I was slowing down for a speed bump. I heard a mechanically pop (thats the best I can describe it) and the brake pedal went down to the floor.
Pulled into a parking spot and turned the engine off. I was then able to pump the brake pedal until it was stiff.
When I turned the engine back on the brakes were extremely mushy and the car pulls to one side and one caliper is making a groaning sound I can't figure out which one. The stopping power is decreased dangerously. None of this happened before the incident.
Any insights appreciated. Thanks.
