Odometer help!!
My 1983 123 had a sticky odometer...would stop at 9/10s of a mile at times and work others...so I took it apart and did the old trick where you slightly roughen the shaft so that the metal gear doesn't spin freely on the shaft....put it back together and now the odometer mile wheel spins at about the rate the tenths wheel should spin, or faster (I am not talking about the trip odometer), hence putting on oodles of miles on the car if I leave it as is!!!!!!!!!!! Can Anbody explain to me what happened and how to possibly fix it? Any help appreciated....Loren
