The shift lever of my 400E suddenly started to show some play, before I could shift confidently and firmly between gears, now the gear is vague and the lever rattles when I shift.

Any suggestions how to look into?

Inspect the Shift lever Bushings...It Sounds Like They are Worn!
Not to Hard to replace...Helps to Have a Lift! Or If Not On Jack Stands!
