I've been following the discussion on door panel removal started by Arias but they advice given doesn't seem to fit my '91 300CE. Everyone is out of stock on the CD's so I'm stuck amd can't even get started. Can anyone help? How does one remove the map pocket? I see a sliding catch mechanism on the bottom towards the back but can't get it to release anything. The giszmo on the front is nicely concealed so I can't even guess what it might be. With the pocket out of the way, how does one get the door panel itself off? The only fasteners visible are on the back edge of the door.

You take off the covering of the seat switch, take off the door latch covering. Take off the inner door release handle and the bolt inside there. You pull upward firmly and the slides will let go. You may need to go ahead and remove the seat switch while there. I don't, but it does make it easier.
