What engine is this?
This car is a 1993 300E. Owner says it is the 3.2, I am afraid it is the 2.8. Help?

To the best of my knowledge, the 2.8 and 3.2 look very similar from the outside. Having said that, it looks just like the 2.8 in my wifes '95 c280, with the exception of the air filter.

Why would you think it's a 2.8? I believe the 300E with a 2.8 would have the emblem on the deck lid.

Check the emission certification label. It will probably have the displacement. If not run the VIN by the Kelly Blue book or Edmunds site and you should be able to determine the displacement from the engine code in the VIN.

The VIN number contains the original engine size!! WDBEA28 is for the 2.8. & WDBEA32 is for the 3.2. LOOKING at the engine number will verify the engine size. ON the 3.2 engine the number should be 104.992.

Thanks. I thought it may be a 2.8 because of an Auto Check report I bought. It is a 3.2 according to the VIN. Thanks for your help.
