Replacing an a/c compressor involves MUCH MORE than simply drain and refill. Not only does it involve a vacuum pump, gauges, etc., but you are entering into an area that is tightly controlled by the Federali Environmental Extremists.

If you are not trained and equipped for refrigeration service, you will be best served by taking it to an auto a/c shop for refrigerant recovery, then bring the car home, change the compressor and take it back to them for evacuation and charging. Releasing the freon into the atmosphere is punishable by a $25,000 fine.

Good luck,
