300e engine temp way too hot

300e engine temp way too hot

Hello board, my 1987 300e does not overheat,but the engine bay gets really hot. It is so hot that a friend of mine touched the fender of my car and got burned(there was no sun out)! Do I need to have my headers recoated or get the devil out of my engine bay??
