96 C280 Fuel Sender Replacement?

Hi,

I may need to replace the fuel gauge senders on 96 C280 due to erratic fuel gauge operation. The Alldata is not very good for this procedure.

Will I have to remove the tank to replace the sender? If not where can I access the senders and is there a history of connector problems causing this fault?

Thanks

The W202's have two sending units as the tank is in two "parts." I think that both can be accessed without removing the tank, but I understand it's a bit of work. Everyone I know says don't bother trying to replace one unit, as you will have to repeat all the labour when the other one breaks.
