I have the check engine light on; and I planned on taking it for repair this weekend. Any thoughts as to what this could mean?
Some one mentioned that it has to do with the emissions. I am taking it to an independent shop in chicago; so, I dont know if they have the tools to fix it.

Any thoughts?

Run a search on JimF (member) for the link to his site. The gentleman has a tremendous amount of background info that will help you understand your car's electrics and the associated fault codes.

A mercedes is an inanimate object and therefore must respond to logic and reason.

same car but mine is a coupe.

There's a sw/LED combo that allows you to read the DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) from the DM, Diag Module.

See my page: click on the "WWW HOUSE" below). Then read MENU #: 1, 2 and 6. That should give you some idea of the car's elec systems and how the car stores DTCs.

Let us know what you find.
