The time has come for the freon to be filled up since it's level is low. Ofcourse I plan on having the shop put in the dye to find out where the leak is. I've checked with two different shops and they both insist on getting the freon replaced with the newer one. But I want to stick to r12. Can someone tell me if there's a shop in New Jersey who would actually fill up r12 for me without me having to convert to the newer one ?

you'll have to check with individual shops. even my local jiffy lube guy had some for a while but then ran out of the stuff...
