Transmission Question 1985 280SE
I have a 280SE 1985. I am not sure, but when shifting through the gears (automatic), it seams like it should have four gears.....but I am only noticing three. Should there be four shifts? Also, If I accelerate very hard, it stays in the low gear until I stop and put it in reverse. Then if I shift carefully through the gears, everything is fine. Is there an adjustment that I can make and how many shifts should I notice?
Thanks Warren

That car has a 4 speed transmission, so you should feel 3 shifts.
Under normal driving you may feel only 2 shifts as that car shoul start in 2nd unless you shift manually OR accelerate briskly.

The Transmission fluid was low. When I added fluid it made a big difference, however, it is leaking. What next?
