Changing brakes on C-class (C220)

Question, the DIY section on this site details steps to change the pads on E-Class MB's. Can the steps be applied for C-class MB's? I'm ready to change all the pads and rotors (discs) on my C220 and don't want to miss a step. Thanks!!

Randy,

I've replaced the rotors and pads on my E320 and my wifes C230 and neither one presented any problems or was very different in the approach. Both cars have a single allen head screw holding the rotors on to the hubs, both had pins holding the rear pads in place.

The C230 had a spring clip setup that held the front pads in place vs. the pins on my E320, but they were easy to remove and reinstall. I bet once you get into it you'll see it's fairly straight forward, if not I'm sure someone on this board or myself can help you along.

Good luck, and make sure you clean those new rotors really good to get all of the anti-corrosion/protectant off them. Brake cleaner works well!!

Read the instructions on the rotors! Some rotors like the PowerDisc rotors from ATE do not require you to wash off the protective coating!

Just a heads up.....
