Greetings,
Well I think the battery on my 1998 E430 died today. The wife was out all day and she parked in the drive. A few minutes later she went out to pull it in the garage. Nothing happened. The windows wouldn't move and no dash lights.
I put a battery charger on for an hour or so.
The lights came on but the car would not starts. Dead.

Is there anything special I need to do to replace the battery?

Also is the a good after market one?

Factory batteries are little more than 100 dollars. Once again, be sure to connect the vent line.

They should, i know all Johnson Controls-made batteries do have a little baggie with a vent tube and instructions along with it. Interstate is made by Johnson Controls. If you really want to save money, AutoZone should have a battery for $60 that will look identical to the Interstate, but i think they are made by Johnson Controls of Mexico now.
