heating problem
I am the owner of a very fine 1989 190E (2.6). I have entered this forum in the past and received much needed help to several minor issues with the car.
I am having a problem with the heat distribution that was not noticible during the cooler weather, but is now quite uncomfortable. The heat "continually" comes through all ports even when the reistat is set on cool. None of the button director selectors diverts the heat from coming into the compartment from all ports. Need help in either correcting or shuting down the heat. Marty.. |

The 190 has a vacuum operated water control valve. It has probably lost the vacuum to it due to a system leakage.
The valve is cheap and often is the problem. Start there. It is in the cowl.
