Question Sloshing Sound From Vents?

Hi guys,

I’ve got a 1990 300E and there is a very distinct sloshing sound coming from the center AC vents. It sounds like there is a bucket of water in there, and every time I turn or go over a bump…it splashes! No water is actually coming out or anything but it sure sounds like it.

Seems to me like something isn’t draining, and all the condensation from the AC is building up. What do I do?

Plugged AC drain. Eventually you will get water on the floor (yuck!).

The drain is over the transmission, I think. You will need to get under there and gently blow some compressed air up into it, or remove the dirt, etc that is plugging it.

Be carefull, the "hose" is a foam material and you can easily rip it. Replacement may be a PITA, you will have to remove the console on the tranny tunnel to get to it.
