Best oil weight?

What is the best weight Mobil One oil to use in our 1994 C-220? Also, my Benz dealer says they don't sell an adapter to remove the oil filter cap. He suggested Snap-On or just use a standard oil filter strap wrench. Is this correct? It seems to me this would be a common piece as the filter cover is notched to accept an adapter? Thanks
