Friends:
The climate control on our 300TE (150K miles) has always worked well. Now, though, the compressor will not turn on. I'm handy, and have the ETM, and know this: (1) the low pressure switch is closed (2) with the fan setting on high and the temperature wheel all the way to red, I get ~0.0VDC to the compressor (3) with the fan setting on high and the temperature wheel all the way in blue, I get ~0.5VDC to the compressor I have not put +12VDC to the compressor clutch, is it OK to do this to see if it works? Any other hints? *ALL* facets of the climate control system seem to work properly, except the compressor clutch. NOTE that this problem *may* be synonomous with my wife being run off the road by an SUV late last summer ... the system has not worked since around that time ... I just don't know ... Should I check the evaporator temperature switch? Try to get the dealer to swap a KLIMA module for testing? TIA for your time. Great forum! Brian |
