Single wire alternator how to wire it up??

i got a general automotive question.

on a single wire delco alternator where does the single out wire go. i would also like to get an amp meter into the system.

i'm thinking single wire into the amp meter then out to the positive side of the battery.

any help would be much appreciated.
thanks

Pound it to fit then Paint it to match!

Go to this search on Vintage-Mustang.com.
Changing the Ford external alternator to a single wire GM unit has been discussed to death.

do a search and make sure you change the time frame from 1 week to all. I did the search, but I can't url to it.
