I have tried to replace the differential mounts on my '87 300E. I can remove the bolts, but am not able to remove the mounts from the sockets in the support frame. Any advice or tricks would be appreciated.

There is a special tool needed to do this. You will have to take the diff loose at all 3 points to lower it enough to access the mounts from the front side too. We should be able to get the tool in the partshop for you.
