300e Flex disc question?
I just replaced my engine over the weekend and when I took my test drive I noticed a clunking noise during shifts. After inspection I noticed play in the front Flex disc and thought it to be bad. After a forum search, I saw someone say they are only bad if the are cracking.
My question is, is there suppose to be any play or should it be snug? When I turn the drive shaft I can see the bolts in the disc move side to side. Any feedback would be helpfull. Thanks, Jim

snug....
with no play. Bolts may need to be tightened or the bolt holes are 'ogwallered', hopefully only in the disc itself.

When fitting the flex disk, there are metal bushings that the bolts go through. These must be seated up in a lip in the transmission and driveshaft yoke. If you completely removed the flex disk from both driveshaft AND transmission yoke, then you got it in 60 degrees off.
Good luck, |
