Windshield Replacement, 300E
I have 2 stone chips (minor) in my front windshield on my 1992 300E. I'm assuming I'll need to replace the glass to pass my next inspection. What does this usually cost and what do I look out for. Is there a big difference between dealer-installed OEM glass and the glass a "window-replacement" company would put in?

Find out what and who the dealer uses and go with that and them. Don't mess around. I have had shops make many many mistakes.
Make sure they have all the clips for the roof rails and trim pieces in stock. They all break and many are not reusable.

What state do you live in where a few stone chips causes failure of state inspection? Chips can be repaired without replacing the windshield.
Good luck, |
