W124 Glass Sunroof Available?

I recently purchased a 1995 E420, and was wondering if Mercedes or an aftermarket supplier ever made a glass sunroof for the W124. It sure would brighten up the interior.

Thanks,
Troy

Anybody?

I'd love to have a glass sunroof for my W124, E420. You'd think with around 1,000,000 W124s made worldwide - someone would have made an aftermarket glass sunroof.

Thanks,
Troy

I'm flipping through the 1995 Mercedes-Benz brochure...a moonroof was never an option...

I brought this up before since I recall to have seen it on cars in Florida. Someone then said there are specialists down there who can make it, but it doesnīt come cheap...

Maybe it is a good idea to approach the manufacturers of moonroofs? As you say, there are thousands of customers out there. Canīt be so tricky if you cancel the extra shade insert ?

I live in Arizona and the last thing I want is a glass sun roof. I'd have the shade closed all the time. I'm looking for a new car and one thing I would want since I'm going to get stuck with a moonroof is a ventilated shade so I could pop the sunroof and get some ventilation while still blocking out the sun.

Maybe if I still lived in the Midwest, I'd have a different opinion.

Just MHO of course.

moonroof

Both my Mazda's have the sliding roof/moonroof option.

If there is a kit out there, I'd love to get one

So did my MX-6...when I still owned it.

And so does my ML...but like Bud says, in Texas, that is only something you enjoy in cool autumn mornings or summer evenings. Otherwise, a glass roof is only a good idea if you are converting your car into a greenhouse!

Yep, as in Europe convertibles are almost more popular in the north than down at the Med. Wonder how the new glass top E-class will be after parked in the sun. Donīt like the look either, but a "normal" glass hatch on a silver car is nice in MHO =)

all this would be nice. but for starters perhaps someone can point me in the right direction where I won't have to spend $1800 dealer quoted to get my original sunroof fixed ! ?
it just stopped working one day. motor is fine but doesnt move the sunroof. I was told to take the roof apart and fix it would be $1800 since it's labor intensive... ! makes me mad

I installed an after market clear glass sun roof on my 810 Datsun sedan years ago when I lived in MI I hated it till the day I quit driving the car. I had never installed one ,very scary making that first cut on a nice car. The late seventies 810's were indeed nice cars..........
