I have an '85 Mercedes 190D, Euro spec. I've come across a 2.5 liter diesel engine that looks similar (except for that 5th cylinder) and I was wondering if I could drop it in. The engine swap would also change out the 4 speed tranny with a 5 speed, I can get hold of pretty much all necessary parts.
If the engine will fit, what other things will I need to change? The computer? Wiring Harness? Anything else along those lines? Any information provided would be appreciated. majewskih@deja.com |

If you have both cars side by side the swap can be done. I would not spend the time on it, but if you want to, you should be able to.
