sun visor

Is there any way to tighten a loose sun visor on a 1974 450SL? Mine is loose like the little ball needs to be tightened. Thanks.

It's a common problem on 107's; search the forum on floppy and visor, and you should find a thread or two with a good description of the procedure.

first remove the rearview mirror with a sharp jerk to either side.
then remove the upper trim panel for the perspective side in need
of repair. you will then uncover an additional screw to adjust the
tension of the visor. when installing the mirror again, coat the both
sides of the spring tabs with a light coat of grease. install 1 end
in and with the mirror now at an angle, place the end of a plastic
handled hammer at the other side. and with 1 good rap from your
hand in the upward motion, the other side will snap in .....

good luck,
