To loosen the locknut on the speed adj. screw on the fuel injector pump do I need a deep well socket and what size ? 12, 13, 14 mm maybe?
Also what tool, special wrench do I need to remove the hand prime pump ? I can't figure out how ? I have on of the new style to install. Thanks |

If you mean the idle speed adjustment locking nut, I think that it is a deep 14 or 15 that you will need.
The hand pump can be taken off with a crow's foot wrench connected to an extension and turned with a ratchet. ------------------ Benzmac: Donnie Drummonds 1992 500E (very soon I hope ![]() 1981 280GE SWB ASE CERTIFIED MASTER AUTO TECHNICIAN SERVICE MANAGER FOR 14 BAY FACILITY MERCEDES SPECIALIST 8 YRS PARTNER IN MERCEDESSHOP.COM |

On replacing the hand pump I believe that's a 17 mm fitting and if you don't have the crows foot wrench you can take a basic 17 mm combination wrench and saw it in half and then you can get it in there and carefully tighten the hand pump. I'm not saying this is a professional solution don't get me wrong but a basic pawn shop 17mm wrench is two dollars or less.
