I changed the rear pads and rotors on my 85 300TDT over the weekend and noticed that the seals around te pistons were split in areas. In addition to replacing the seals should I take the calipers apart and clean and inspect them. I didn't see any signs of brake fluid leaking from the caliper. My concern is the presence of dirt in eating the piston. While I am at it I am replacing the front pads and renewing he brake fluid. Suggestions?
Thanks for your time. Alec. |
