steering leak

Hello, I am new here and this is my first post/query. I have a 97' E420 (my wife's), the steering rod assembly? is leaking amber steering fluid. It has about 79K miles. The part I am referring to is what turns the wheels? Forgive me I do not know how to refer to the part properly. I filled the steering fluid container up with steering fluid with stop leak but I think it is leaking while the car is driven as there is nothing on the driveway. I am taking it to a dealer to have it repaired but have to drive it to either Dallas, or Austin. I have the MB select warranty and all how long does it take to fix this? Is this a common problem with this model?
Thanks, Dean
