Lightbulb Engine swap 72 220D-What can I use?

I have a 72 220D 4spd, the engine is shot, awsome body, and I would like to put a later 240D engine in it. I know it had been done, anyone care to comment on how much work is involved? Can I use my original tranny? Driveline? Engine mounts? Any comments greatly appreciated! BTW the older, pneumatically governed injection pump 220's seemed to be harder to pass emissions here in Colorado than the later flyweight governed ones. Any ideas?

The 1974-76 240D engine would be a direct bolt-in.
