Hesitation at steady cruise, 2000 -2500 RPM

My 97 E300 D seems as suffers a pulsating Hesitation while attempting to maintain a steady cruise speed.

It feels a though the fuel supply is being interupted in a pulattion of about twice persecond.

It seem to be related to a steady engine speed with light throttle. Seems to occur at certain madifold pressesure, could this be a vacume pump problem ?

The Keyword is "Surging"

I happend to find information related to this problem by searching for surging. Anyone else with a similair problem should search under "surging" or "resonance flaps".

This fourm is great, it took several weeks of searching to find my home.
