Headlamp Washer Cover ML

Yesterday I got home from the dealer and noticed that the driver's side headlamp washer cover was gone. The dealer did wash the car and I wonder whether they got a rag stuck under it and broke it of... My point is does anyone have instructions on how to replace it. Even better if someone has one or both to sell it will make live easier. Burgundy 2000 ML55.

Why not go back to the dealer and have them fix it if they broke it?

Liability

I just do not have the time or inclination to confront the dealer to fix this as I am 50 miles away from them. I just want the problem fixed. (And will pay for it as my wife is not to happy as this is her vehicle)

So do you have a diagram or part on how to repair this?. (This is what I was asking for).

Sorry, I have never looked at one of those. If you have a good one (the passenger side) and a broken one (the drivers side), can you look at it and see how it is attached? Is there a screw missing or a broken plastic part or something? Maybe if you look at it real close, you can figure out how it goes together. I'm pretty sure you could get any broken or missing part from the PartsShop.

As far as I know, there are no service manuals available for the 2000 ML, except maybe on microfiche. And there always is startekinfo.com - $20 for 24 hours of browsing.

Headlamp Washer Cover

Steve,
That is a good idea except I do not know what pulls the cover back towards the bumper cover. I would hate to force and break the other one.

I will be running down to a buddy of mine that has a bodyshop today and see whether he has an assembly diagram.

Thanks.

Deon.

The pop-out washer tower is spring loaded internally.
You can pull it out by using a wedge to press the cover away from the bumper, or have a second person press the washer button and grab it when it pops out.
If I remember correctly, those covers snap on and off rather easy.

Thanks for the advice. My friend at the bodyshop ordered a replacement for me and has some installation instructuins too.

The part does come pre-painted in the vehicle colour and it only
costs....believe it or not $12.50.

Thanks for all the help guys.
