I've never smelled it in the cabin. I've smelled it when I'm outside the car walking in front of it. On my NA OM606 the intake manifold is sooo much cooler that before. Just imagine all that dense, oxygen rich air going into those combustion chambers... Sounds like VICTORY!

So where did you vent it? How exactly did you run the hose?

Used the elbow and tube from the CCV valve to route the gases to the side of the head like on the turbo models - the just some heater hose down behind the headlamp and there is a small round flag that can be popped open in the plastic undercarriage baffle up front, behind the fog lamp door - look and you will find.

Any ideas on how to mimick manifold pressure in regards to egr function?

Well here is what I tried:
I disconnected the egr tube and ran it to the line that goes to the MAP sensor. I put a check valve so that boost pressure was getting to the MAP sensor and another check valve so exhaust gases did not get into the intake.

So boost pressure and exhaust gases were getting to the MAP sensor but not going into each others space.

It did not work and I believe it is because I probably have to have the exhaust gases going to the MAP sensor only when the egr was functioning and not all the time.

Any thoughts?
